Knowing the Truth

1.  God’s purpose for our lives is to worship and serve Him.  I Corinthians 10:31

In the beginning God had a perfect relationship with mankind, until Adam and Eve sinned. Genesis 3:16-19

2. From that point forward all of mankind was born with a sinful nature, impeding our relationship with God.  Romans 3:23

3.  The result of this disobedience to God, or sin, is separation from God through death, both spiritually and physically.Romans 6:23     Ephesians 2:1     Hebrews 9:27

4.  There are many ways the world tells us we can gain eternal life, Proverbs 14:12

1. Good works
2. Religion
3. Money
4. Morality

But none of these will work.  There is only 1 true way to eternal life.  Ephesians 2:8-9

5.  God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins so that we may have eternal life.  John 3:16  Romans 5:8  I Peter 3:18

6.  For us, as sinners, to be saved from sin, we must receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  We must repent of our sins and ask Jesus to forgive us of our sins.  Acts 3:19, I John 1:9

We must believe that God’s Son, Jesus, died on the cross for our sins, rose again, and that he is our Savior.  Romans 10:13
