Atheist Bus ads – The Saga continues…

I promised to keep everyone up to speed on the atheist bus ad saga going on in the U.K.  You can get caught up on the story here: Thrown Under the Busand here: Atheist Bus Ads Follow Up Well, here’s the latest, offices of a conservative Christian political organization were vandalized after the launch of their rebuttal campaign that there is a God.  There slogan reads, “There definitely is a God.  So join the Christian Party and enjoy your life.”  Additional bus ads are scheduled to begin in Scotland.

Some of you might have been following this story and wondering what does it have to do with me?  Well here’s what I what to impress upon you.  This is happening in the United Kingdom.  We’re not that far removed from them as a country.  They too operate as a capitalist democracy, albeit with their own governmental intricacies.  There is a Christian persecution under way in the U.K. and it’s on a much grander scale than bus ads.  In upcoming posts, I’ll begin updating you on what’s happening there.  Again, this isn’t taking place in Darfur, it’s not a radical Muslim state, it’s Great Britain; our closest ally.  If Christian persecution can take place there, are we to believe it can’t happen here also?

Matthew 5:11-12 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.  Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

I Peter 4:12-14 “Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.  But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.  If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.”

Romans 12:14 “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.”
