March for Life 1/24/11

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.  Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well.  My frame was not hidden from You, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.  Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalm 139:13-16

Today is the annual March-for-Life Rally held in Washington D.C.  Since this past weekend marked the anniversary of Roe v. Wade court decision, let’s review some of the recent stories relevant to these events.

Every time I see the video below, I can’t help but think of my little girl growing inside her momma.  She was such an answer to prayer.  Because of a history of complications we were able to watch God form our little girl in the womb via ultrasounds at nearly the same rate as shown in the video.  To think that someone could advocate killing an innocent unborn life is not only appalling and repulsive but speaks directly to the depravity and wickedness of man.

Below is a video of abortion survivor, Gianna Jessen.  If you haven’t yet seen this, it is a must see.  Keep in mind her mother attempted to abort her at 7 ½ months.  Go back and watch the video posted above and look at the tiny little real features of a baby at that age.  Also of note, this procedure was performed by the counsel of Planned Parenthood.

In His Own Words: A Radical Pro-abortion President

Dr. Al Mohler, President of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, offers reflection upon the President’s statement this past weekend marking the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.  In that statement the President adds, “I am committed to protecting this constitutional right. I also remain committed to policies, initiatives, and programs that help prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant women and mothers, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption.”  He concluded by saying, “And on this anniversary, I hope that we will recommit ourselves more broadly to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights, the same freedoms, and the same opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.”  Sounds noble and just doesn’t it?  Get pregnant unintentionally and simply abort the baby.  Why let him/her get in the way of your dreams?  Here’s a thought: How about except the CONSEQUENCES of your poor decisions.

March for Life

For those interested, this story highlights the event today at the March for Life rally.  The rally features Rep. Michelle Backmann (R-Minn.) as the featured speaker.  1.2 million babies are aborted annually.  1.2 MILLION silent murders taking place everywhere from government funded Planned Parenthood clinics to back-alley doctors’ offices.

Below is a video posted on Lane Chaplin’s VLOG I’ve included the commentary and details about the video that were provided in his post.

An excerpt from the new production from The Apologetics Group “The Abortion Matrix: Defeating Child Sacrifice and the Culture of Death” — specifically from Chapter 3, “The Devil’s Mousetrap.”

Is there a connection between pagan religion and the abortion industry?

This powerful presentation traces the biblical roots of child sacrifice and then explores the social, political and cultural fall-out this sin against God and crime against humanity has produced in our amoral, increasingly pagan society.

Conceived as a sequel and update to the 1988 classic, The Massacre of Innocence, the new title, The Abortion Matrix, is entirely fitting. It not only references abortion’s specific target ? the sacred matrix where human beings are formed in the womb in the very image of God ? but it also implies the existence of a conspiracy, a matrix of seemingly disparate forces that are driving this holocaust.
The occult activity surrounding the abortion industry is exposed with numerous examples. But are these just aberrations, bizarre yet anomalous examples of abortionists who just happen to have ties to modern day witchcraft? Or is this representative of something deeper, more sinister and even endemic to the entire abortion movement?

As the allusion to the film of over a decade ago suggests, the viewer may learn that things are not always as they appear to be. “The Abortion Matrix” reveals the reality of child-killing and strikes the proper moral chord to move hearts to fulfill the biblical responsibility to rescue those unjustly sentenced to death and to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves (Proverbs 24:11,12; 31:8,9).

SPECIAL NOTE: This video is still in production and we are in the red trying to get it completed. As you might expect, the spiritual warfare surrounding this production ? as well as with our other major new production “Is Gay OK?” Ten Things Every Christian Needs to Know ? has been intense; our main audio recording system crashed, there has been sickness, financial attacks, we could go on. We would deeply appreciate your prayers: for wisdom, protection, provision and encouragement. And we would also ask you to consider partnering with us in the project financially. Any gift, large or small would be greatly appreciated. With any gift of $25.00 and above you will receive a pre-release copy of the DVD when it is complete; $100.00 and above and you will be listed in the credits as a partner who helped make the video possible; a gift of $1,000.00 or more and Eric Holmberg will come to your church, school or pro-life group (in the US) to speak, preach, and/or help lead a prayer vigil at your local abortuary using the new “Liturgy for Life” that he and his team has developed. Bucket Drops 1/14/11: Abortion

I apologize for the lack of posts this week.  I had written several blogs, but due to some time constraints I was never really able to proofread and think through them completely.   Lord willing I will be more consistent next week.  You may have noticed from time to time, I select some news stories that are pertinent to Christian life and I republish them under the heading of “Bucket Drops” in reference to the passage in Isaiah 40:15 where the nations are referred to as but a drop in the bucket in measurement to God.  With upcoming anniversary of Roe v. Wade (January 22, 1973) this week there were a lot of blogs and news stories covering abortion, so that’s the focus of this edition of “Bucket Drops.”

Chilling Almost Beyond Belief

Starting off is this post from Al Mohler, President of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  In this story, Mohler discussed the shocking figures recently released on New York City’s abortion rates.  He notes that nearly 40% of all pregnancies end in abortion, while the number among African Americans is a staggering 60%!  Why are all the Christians who clamor for justice so silent on the issue of abortion?  Surely there is no greater segment of the population that needs justice more than the helpless, defenseless, unborn babies.

Couple aborts twin boys because they want a girl using IVF

This story, covered by Politics Daily, is quite appalling as it discusses the decision by two Austrailian parents to abort their twin boys, because they want to use IVF to ensure they have a girl to replace the one they recently lost.  So this is what it comes to?  Killing innocent life because they weren’t the sex you had hoped for?  Surely to this horrific sin there is no end to the evil and twisted outcomes that man will come up with.

Health Care Reform: A Pro-life Legal Analysis from AUL

This article from the Crosstalk Blog highlights the research findings of a study into the healthcare reform bill that is sure to be reanalyzed with the newly elected House of Representatives.  The opening statement from the research article says, “The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) allows federal tax dollars to directly subsidize insurance plans that cover abortions.”

Study: Contraceptives raise abortion rates

Interesting study, but no real surprise.  I wonder how long it will be until the mainstream media picks up on the fact that “the Pill, IUDs, Depo-Provera and Norplant cause early abortions.” Oh the depth of lies that have been told in order to promote the murderous agenda of abortion.

Should Churches observe Sanctity of Life Sunday

In this post, Dr. R.C. Sproul argues that abortion should be an issue that churches address in what has been called “Sanctity of Life Sunday.”  He argues “Sanctity of Life Sunday is as fitting, as sensible, as reasonable as observing the Incarnation from the pulpit. Just as we must preach the glory of the incarnation, sometime, if not in December, so we must preach the horror of this evil sometime, if not in January.  To be silent is to be complicit”.  While also asserting, “abortion in America is, in the judgment of my very wise father, the greatest evil in our history. The American holocaust dwarves the evil of Nazi Germany in both numbers of the dead, and the numbers of we who know what is happening.”

Below is a video from Dr. Sproul in which he discusses the re-release of his book “Abortion – A Rational Look at an Emotional Issue”

“Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are accounted as dust on the scales; behold he takes up coastlands like fine dust.” Isaiah 40:15

How much weight should our opposition to abortion carry in our voting decisions?

By R.C. Sproul, Jr., Ligonier Ministries www.ligonier.org

God calls us to think His thoughts after Him. That means all of His thoughts. That is, we ought to have a sound and biblical view on everything the Bible touches on. Where it touches on political issues, we are called, again to have sound biblical views. We need to think biblically about what is just war and what is not. We need to think faithfully about taxation, and the size and scope of government. We need to think through what obligation, if any the state has to protect property, to protect our lives.

That said, there are precious few things that frustrate me more about the evangelical right than its utter foolishness with respect to proportion politically. We bundle together this issue and that, everything from tax rates to school vouchers to flag burning to abortion, and call it “family values.” There is a right and a wrong answer on all these issues. But abortion is not like any of the others. It stands out all on its own. In a hundred years, the Christian church will not hang its head in shame that it did so little to pass a Constitutional Amendment against the burning of the flag. In a hundred years, no elderly Christian will be looked at with suspicion by the younger generation because they didn’t do more to lower the tax rate. In a hundred years, if God should be so gracious, we will be looked upon as that godless generation of the church that watched tens of millions of babies go to their deaths. Indeed, we’ll be remembered as those “Christians” who elected men to office who believed that the state ought to protect the rights of some mothers to murder their babies.

It is unfair to draw too tight a comparison between abortion in America and the Holocaust in Nazi Germany. There are significant differences. First, the Holocaust was carried out, by and large, in secret. The rank and file Germans had no idea what was going on. We, on the other hand, every last one of us, woke up today knowing that four thousand babies would die today. We, on the other hand, have four thousand mothers, every day, who knowingly do this. We, on the other hand, have four thousand fathers, boyfriends and husbands who every day encourage this. The Holocaust lasted roughly ten years, and the Nazi’s killed roughly six million people. We, on the other hand, have been at this for 35 years, and have killed more than fifty million babies. It is an unfair comparison, unfair to the Nazis. We are far worse monsters.

How much weight should our opposition carry? I have purposed in my heart that I would never vote for a man for any office that is not committed to using every power at his disposal to protect and defend every unborn child. Never. Ever. If every Christian would simply make that simple pledge, then we would win this battle. As it stands, at best we vote for candidates who might nominate or support judicial candidates who might vote for this small impediment or that to abortion on demand. At worst, we vote for the guy with the R by his name. We need to get rid of our strategies, and get on our knees in repentance. We need to stop negotiating with candidates over the bodies of dead babies.
