Video: Christopher Hitchens on cancer and God

Notorious atheist, author Christopher Hitchens, in his interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper discusses his recent battle with cancer, those that are praying for him, and that as long as he’s lucid he will never pray to God, dispelling any potential deathbed conversion rumors.  I’m simply reminded of one powerful verse that is used in James 4:6 and I Peter 5:5, as they quote from Proverbs 3:34, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to humble.”  Mr. Hitchens, cancer is a humbling experience, but it appears this may not be the case with you, as instead you’ve stated it bores you.  May you repent and seek God that He may in His infinite grace grant mercy to your soul.

New Atheists

An excellent commentary by Southern Baptist Theological Seminary president Al Mohler.  The “New Atheists” as touted by author and atheist Michael Dowd, includes Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Christopher Hitchens, and Sam Harris.  Dowd argues that these “New Atheists” have come to provide an escape from biblical Christianity.  What I find remarkable is that in Mohler’s commentary he notes that Dowd “preached” his atheist message in 3 liberal Oklahoma City churches.  2 Timothy 4:3-4, “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”  Like Hitches, Dowd has been recently diagnosed with cancer.

Huffington Post Columnist celebrates ‘Slow, Whining Death’ of Christianity

I can assure this man, Christ’s Church will not die nor will it ever fade away.  As I have alluded to before, if you want to see where Christianity in this country is heading if we do not repent and return to God, just watch England.

Atheist Billboards

More information on the billboard battle brewing in the Bible Belt (bet you can’t say that 5 times fast).   This time the atheist promoting billboard went up in Louisville, home to the aforementioned Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Atheist Advertise: Imagine No Religion, Sleep in on Sundays

This time in Florida.  Anybody else get the feeling these efforts are coordinated?

“Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are accounted as dust on the scales; behold he takes up coastlands like fine dust.” Isaiah 40:15
