In the video clip below, from our recent podcast, we go over the and perhaps even introduce the concept of Work as Worship. Originally intertwined, after the fall both work and worship have been largely separated, oftentimes creating difficulties for societies, even those heavily influenced by Christianity, to relate one to the other. These reached a pinnacle during the Medieval Period as the only legitimate work was considered to be that of the priest or those in the ministry, i.e. monks. Martin Luther argued against that and attempted to reclaim the idea that all work is valid and all believers are priests ministering in the presence of God. In order to understand the argument against elevating worship (in that context) over our work, we need to go back to the Garden and found out their original arrangement and relationship. This also will prepare us for the upcoming Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution when workers will be replaced by machines.
