TOMS Shoe Founder Balks at FoF alliance over homosexuality This is an interesting story because I know so many who make it a point to buy TOMS shoes because of their mission to help the needy. However, their disassociation with Focus on the Family over their homosexual stance, is yet another example of how good deeds apart from the Gospel of Jesus Christ are not really good deeds at all, but rather man-centered attempts to by-pass the need for God.

Cali governor votes to include education on “gay history” A scary precedent on the inclusion of “gay history” to be taught in public schools. This could have a major impact on textbooks used nationwide, since California represents a large segment of textbook purchases.
A Scary Trend toward progressive Christianity This is a startling trend of many young people who are being swept away by not only the Emerging/Emergent church, but following the larger umbrella of “progressive Christianity” which is no Christianity at all and seeks to align itself with other religions. It rejects not only the inerrancy of Scripture, but its authority and sufficiency. God help us.
Church to do series on Johnny Depp movies This has to be one of the worst ideas for a sermon series I’ve ever heard of. The fact that the original link was shared by K-Love news, tells us all we need to know about their discernment. Heartsong Church will begin a teaching series on the humility found in Johnny Depp movies. No seriously.
